An artificial womb? Robotic doctors? Smart pills? Do these sound like something straight from a sci-fi movie? Are they too farfetched to be real? Well, not at all. In fact these inventions are fast becoming reality. Advances in medical care and technology are gaining ground in terms of high-tech gadgets that people wouldn’t have thought could have existed twenty or even ten years ago.
Studies into the possibility of artificially growing organs and tissues are now being developed and their products (though far from fully-grown organs) have already been used to help patients. Research in the field of genetic engineering is also making waves, creating ways to personalize drugs and make them compatible for a specific person. Portable ultrasounds are also being made to benefit patients who do not have access to the actual machine. These advances in medical technology are slowly coming into fruition.
Maybe those reading a Master’s in Healthcare Guide can one day create even more mind-boggling and awe-inspiring devices that can help the field of medical technology.
