While there are a lot of things in your life that can cause you stress, one major life change that causes almost everyone at least a little bit of stress is moving from one home to another. Especially if you have to move a very long distance or have to move at very short notice, you can feel a lot of stress as a result of these changes. But luckily, there are some things you can do to help minimize this stress. So to save yourself some headaches and worry, here are three tips for managing the stress that comes with moving.
Give Yourself As Much Time As Possible
Although this variable isn’t always completely in your control, Diane Schmidt, a contributor to The Spruce, recommends giving yourself as much time as possible to prepare and plan for your move. Schmidt states that 8 to 12 weeks is generally enough time to get everything organized for a move. So if you know you’ll be moving in the near future, try to start the whole process a month or two before your moving date.
